EDFacts is the U.S. Department of Education's system for collecting K-12 performance data from states — assessment participation and results, adjusted cohort graduation rates, and the reporting that supports federal accountability.
EDFacts files are heavily suppressed to protect student privacy: results for small groups are withheld or published as a range such as 'greater than 80%' rather than a number. Treating a suppressed range as a point estimate, or a suppressed cell as a zero, is the usual way EDFacts analyses go wrong.
