Service Agreement

This Service Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of pumsdata (the "Service"), provided by datamuse market intelligence, Inc. ("we", "us"). It supplements and incorporates our Terms of Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Agreement.

1. Plans

pumsdata offers a Free plan (no payment method required), which includes a monthly allowance of queries and a preview of query results; two paid subscription tiers, Pro and Unlimited, each billed monthly or annually, with reduced academic pricing for Pro billed month to month; a one-time Usage Pass granting time-limited access for a fixed number of hours, with optional one-time top-ups that add rows or exports to a Usage Pass while it is running; and one-time Export Packsthat add exports to a paid plan's monthly allowance. Programmatic API access is not sold self-serve; it is scoped and quoted per client. Current prices, limits, and inclusions are listed on the pricing page, which is part of this Agreement. Public data pages remain viewable without an account.

2. Billing & Auto-Renewal

You are never charged without explicit confirmation:every purchase is completed through our payment processor's checkout, where the exact price and billing interval are shown before you confirm. Pro and Unlimited subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or annual — and your saved payment method is charged at the then-current price, until you cancel. The Usage Pass, its top-ups and Export Packs are one-time charges — they do not renew. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and will suspend paid access if it cannot be collected. We will give at least 30 days' notice of price changes; changes take effect at your next renewal.

3. Cancellation & Refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page (Manage billing) — no email or phone call needed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep paid access until then. Except where required by law, payments are not refunded pro-rata for partial periods, and Usage Passes, their top-ups and Export Packs are non-refundable once the access window begins or the added rows or exports are made available. If we discontinue the paid Service entirely during a period you have paid for, we will refund the unused portion.

4. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are provided directly to Stripe and are not stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Free Plan & Fair Use

Free-plan limits (such as the monthly query allowance, the size of the results preview, and saved views) are stated on the pricing page and may be adjusted with notice. We may apply reasonable technical limits on any plan to protect the Service from abuse.

6. Academic Pricing

Reduced pricing for the Pro tier is available to students and academic staff. Eligibility is established by subscribing with an email address at an academic domain, and we may re-check eligibility at each renewal. Academic pricing is offered month to month only. If the address is no longer valid or no longer academic, we may move the subscription to standard pricing at the next renewal, with notice before any changed amount is charged.

7. Account Sharing

Each account is for one named individual. Accounts may not be shared between people, and credentials may not be passed to anyone outside your organisation. If you need access for more than one person, contact us.

8. Existing Accounts

Accounts created before paid plans were introduced keep their existing level of access at no charge, for as long as the account remains active. We will not move an existing account onto a paid plan, reduce what it can do, or ask it for payment as a result of introducing these plans. This applies automatically — there is nothing to claim.

9. Changes to the Service

We may add to, change, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis as described in our Terms of Service.

10. Your Account & Data

You may stop using the Service or close your account at any time. When your account is closed, you may lose access to your account data — including saved maps, segments, comparisons, and settings — and we may deactivate and delete it. Export anything you wish to keep before closing your account. We are not liable for loss of data resulting from account closure or discontinuation of the Service.
