What does this housing-market data cover?+
Monthly county-level housing-market figures for 3,137 U.S. counties — median sale price, median price per square foot, homes sold, new listings, pending sales, inventory, median days on market, months of supply, and the share sold above list — from January 2017 through June 2026. Data provided by Redfin, a national real estate brokerage.
Why is my county missing, or missing some months?+
Months where a county recorded fewer than 3 sales are suppressed — a median of one or two transactions is noise, not a market price. Counts of homes sold are always kept. A small number of very low-transaction counties have no reportable months at all, and Redfin does not cover every county.
Why are changes only shown year over year?+
The figures are not seasonally adjusted, and housing is strongly seasonal — prices and sales always swing between winter and summer. Comparing a month to the same month a year earlier is the only honest comparison, so these pages never compare adjacent months.
How fresh is the data, and is there a national median?+
The latest month shown is June 2026; the dataset refreshes periodically and Redfin can revise history. There is no pooled national or state median — a median only describes one market, so medians are always shown per county.
